Please read these instructions before you start your application

Please allow enough time to complete your application and review your answers.

We recommend allowing 30 minutes to complete this process. Only fully submitted applications will be considered.

You will be able to save your progress at different stages of your application.

Before you start your application

You will need the following information:

• A valid personal email address (NOT a school email address and NOT belonging to a parent or carer)
• Your parent/carer details (including mobile number and email address)
• Your examined subjects (you do not need predicted grades to make an application)
• Your attendance during Year 10 and 11 (you will be asked to confirm the number of days absent)
• A personal statement. You will be asked: Why you would like to study at Sir John Deane’s Sixth Form College; What your career aspirations are and Tell us about yourself.

Completing your application

Step 1. Register for an account

• Register your personal details using a valid personal email address (NOT a school email address and NOT belonging to a parent or carer).
• After submitting your registration you will be asked to verify your email address – Please ensure the email that you have registered is easily accessible so you can follow the link to verify it.
• The email you register will be the email that is recorded on your application and is the address which will be used for all future communications so you will need to check it regularly.
• You will have the option to add parent or carer email addresses as part of your application. We will communicate with parents or carers to keep them up to date.
• If you need to change your email address after submitting your application, please send the new details to admissions@sjd.ac.uk and we will update it.

Step 2. Find and select 3 courses

• Find the courses you wish to apply for by clicking Search for a course and View Course Information.
• Check the course is the right one and click add to basket.
• Review your course choices by clicking the highlighted ‘Courses Selected’ link at the top of the page. Click the option to add another course.
• The courses that you select are an expression of interest and will be finalised at Enrolment.

Step 3. Entering application details

• When you have selected 3 courses you can click the Complete your application button.
• You will need to Sign in to complete your application using the email address and password that you have verified.
• Once you have signed in, you will be taken through the application steps.
• You do not have to complete all your application in one sitting.  Remember to save your progress as you go along and you can return to continue your application at a later date.
• When returning to your saved application click ‘My dashboard’ and ‘continue application’.
• When you have fully submitted your application it will still be visible on your dashboard, but the status will not be updated.
• If you want to make any changes after you have fully submitted your application, or if you do not receive an email acknowledgement within 5 working days, please contact admissions@sjd.ac.uk
• You must only submit ONE application.
